At Chatter, we believe behaviour makes sense when we take the time to understand what’s behind it.
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is an evidence-based, person-centred approach that looks beyond the behaviour itself to understand what a person may be communicating, experiencing or trying to achieve.
We work collaboratively with participants, families, carers and support teams to understand behaviours of concern and the factors that may be contributing to them. From there, we develop individualised and practical behaviour plans with strategies designed to build skills, strengthen communication, create supportive environments and improve quality of life.
Our support may include Functional Behaviour Assessments, Behaviour Support Plans, observations, care-team collaboration, implementation support, training and ongoing review.
Most importantly, PBS at Chatter isn't about changing someone to make life easier for everyone else. It's about understanding the person, identifying what they need and creating positive, sustainable changes that work in their real life - at home, in the community and alongside the people who support them.
Sandra Silvi is Proficient-level Behaviour Support Practitioner and Chatter operates under parent company Careva, a registered NDIS provider, ensuring PBS services are delivered within appropriate NDIS governance, quality and safeguarding frameworks and requirements.
Chatter is currently welcoming new participants who require PBS support. We understand how important it is to find the right practitioner and access support without unnecessary delays.
If you’re a participant, family member, Support Coordinator or other referrer looking for PBS support, we’d love to hear from you.
